Headline sponsor opportunity for 2027 Cardiff Half Marathon

Run 4 Wales (R4W) is inviting ambitious brands and businesses to join one of Britain’s biggest sporting events as it begins the search for a new headline sponsor for the UK’s only SuperHalf – Cardiff Half Marathon – from 2027 onwards.

With an audience of 100,000 runners and supporters descending on the Welsh capital each October and more than 11 million people reached via digital platforms, the Cardiff Half Marathon offers a standout opportunity for a brand to take centre stage at a truly iconic event.

Organised by R4W, a not-for-profit social enterprise and charitable trust, the Cardiff Half has established itself as one of the UK and Europe’s leading mass-participation running events, welcoming more than 30,000 participants and bringing together passionate audiences from across the UK and overseas.

Previous headline partners have included globally recognised and major British brands including Oysho, Principality Building Society, Wizz Air, Cardiff University and Lloyds Bank. The opportunity is now open for a new sponsor to take centre stage alongside the event from 2027 – becoming part of the next chapter in the Cardiff Half Marathon’s growth.

While the Cardiff Half is renowned for its famous Welsh welcome, its appeal now stretches far beyond the capital. The event attracts runners from across the UK and overseas, with its international reputation continuing to grow year on year.

The race holds an Elite Road Race Label from World Athletics and is a founding member of the SuperHalfs – a prestigious series connecting six of Europe’s leading half marathons in Lisbon, Prague, Berlin, Copenhagen, Cardiff and Valencia. The Cardiff Half’s place within the SuperHalfs series has helped establish the race as a bucket-list destination for international runners and after general entries sold out within just 12 hours in 2025, the event went to ballot in 2026 as demand for entries continues to grow.

Deborah Powell, Commercial Director at R4W, said: “We are delighted to share this exciting proposition and opportunity for companies looking to align with an iconic race, which resonates with people and communities from all ages and backgrounds.

“The 2027 event, which will take place between 2-3 October, will also offer opportunities for year-round engagement through a loyal and engaged fanbase, both nationally throughout the UK and globally through the SuperHalfs.”

The headline partnership will offer an opportunity for a brand to become intrinsically linked with one of the UK’s most recognisable half marathons, with opportunities spanning race weekend, participant engagement, digital and social content, brand activations, community initiatives and year-round campaign activity.

R4W is now encouraging businesses and brands interested in exploring the opportunity to get in touch with its commercial team to find out more about becoming the Cardiff Half Marathon’s headline sponsor from 2027.
