R4W celebrates Always Aim High Events acquisition anniversary
Run 4 Wales (R4W) is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its acquisition of Always Aim High Events (AAHE), coming together to form the Run 4 Wales Group
The event companies joined forces in April 2026 bringing two leaders in the Welsh sporting industry together with a shared commitment to deliver world-class events that give back to their communities and inspire more people to become physically active.
R4W is a not-for-profit social enterprise and charitable foundation set up to promote, manage and deliver major sporting events. Its surpluses are invested into grassroots sport and community projects. With the addition of Always Aim High Events in its portfolio, it’s meant that it can further increase its social impact across the nation.
As well as expanding its social impact across Wales, the Run 4 Wales Group has expanded its events portfolio.
Alongside its popular Cardiff Half Marathon, ABP Newport Marathon Festival and 10K Series, it also includes a variety of trail runs, triathlons and cycling events organised by AAHE up in North Wales including the Slateman, Snowdonia Trail Marathon Eryri, Snowman, Tour De Mon, Sandman and Anglesey Trail Half Marathon and 10K.
Matt Newman, Chief Executive at the Run 4 Wales Group, said: “It’s been a brilliant first year since we welcomed Always Aim High Events into the Run 4 Wales family, and it’s been fantastic seeing our teams come together to deliver Wales’s most iconic mass participation events from our bases in Cardiff and Llanberis.
“We’re excited to see what the future holds as we continue to look to put on our iconic events in some of the country’s most stunning landscapes, building and developing new opportunities and creating a lasting impact right across Wales.”
